[ it's more than contagious-- while not as intense as initially ( though that will change when they meet face to face ), Enma still has a smile brightening his bandaged face, nodding with enthusiasm at Jack's animated exclamations. it's the whole display, it's the energy that Jack is passing on to him-- it's hard, difficult to keep a straight expression at a time like that; he didn't even want to feel that other way.

and with his eyes, he tries to follow, keep up as the camera shifts and turns-- it's intense and awaiting until Jack pops into view once more, having Enma shuffle up to his feet, the view of the crammed bunk beds behind him. ]

I'm down here, but-- [ it was pretty stuffy in here, honestly speaking. he's been in here for days now-- in his world time, he's been gone for nearly a month. a change in scenery might-- no, will do him some good. ]

Can I go up?

[ while he's managed to change his gloomy aspect, more or less-- he's still the shyer type. that one timid boy who, deep down is a strong, selfless kid; that, despite the ( now smaller ) insecurities, he wanted a friend here. he only ever ( and had only recently noticed ) had but a few selected friends back in his home world. he would like to have Jack as a friend, very much, in fact-- and while that territory is still fairly new to him ( the reason why he's asking, really ), he just wanted to avoid stepping on as many toes as possible, even though in a situation such as this one, with a person such as this one, there was really nothing to step on. ]

Uhm-- O-okay!

[ this was-- let's not lie, this was exciting. Enma's final expression to the hurried feed is a positive one, a bright one, before he fumbles with the compass enough to slip it in his pocket. there's movement, lots of movement-- the teen forgets to shut it off during the rush, thus Jack probably being greeted with shuffling darkness, the ups and downs of someone in motion.

a series of short tumbles, a heavy thud, and a soft crash all in one suddenly sound, though. ]

Ow--

[ well Jack, you've witnessed one of his infamous little falls, thanks to his very own balance ( and feet ). for a few seconds it all seems to cease, the movement-- but there's no use, how can he not rev right back up? all his shin needs is a quick rub, which comes as the sound of ruffling fabric, before the redhead sets out on a fast-walk.

the walk turns into a jog as he arrives on deck, head and body twisting around sporadically for any sign of the winter spirit. he comes to a stop around the middle of the ship, breathing heavy, but eyes darting, following up the shadow of the tallest crane. he must be up there . . . !

Enma's there, a smile just ready to break free-- it was a nice feeling, the comings of a smile, despite everything that's happened and despite where they were, here and at home ( home being the better change, the reason for his personality tweak ). i pleasant feeling that was a welcomed change compared to the hopelessness and chaos. among the differences is physically, that the video feed probably didn't catch very well at all, is a rather striking visual for one not waiting for it-- and that's the absence of his left arm, the empty sleeve of his jacket sown ( with his own hand, mind you! you can probably tell, with the quality . . . ) up to the shoulder. ]
