[the hallways are a little muggy; how long could you last? is something he doesn't ask aloud, but does manage to ask with an awkward shift of weight upon his feet and scrunched-up facial expression. because when in doubt (and when not a roaming winter spirit - no offense meant, Jack), use body language.]

[his expression smooths out fairly quickly, however, and then he's stepping fully into the room, breath puffing out in a thin cloud.]

Wouldn't get too cold, nah. You didn't cool this place off that much.

[as he stands there in an overcoat, shirt and patched trousers. you know. whatever.]

But if you've slept enough and feel like getting out and roaming, sure-- right after I ask you what I came to ask, yes, let's. The reason you had thirteen messages was because [- a sniff (he'd been concerned) -] it's a very important question, and has to do with [- quick backwards kick, hopefully shutting the container door -] bothering our lovely beneficiary, the Project Head.

Want to hear more?

[... that Jack would, the Doctor knew perfectly well. asking him felt like trapping him in it, but -- beggars couldn't be choosers, and the Time Lord had definitely become a beggar.]

[unfortunately, he'd give no greater explanation at that very moment than --]

All the time. Big fan of freezers, me. Especially-- aha- deep freezers. Like this. You're very attuned to the weather, aren't you.

[half-laughing, but not out of nervousness; and of course it wasn't an actual question - obviously the weather had tied itself to Jack, or visce versa - but it did follow another quick scope of the inside of the container, keen eyes taking in lengthening crystals, breath crisp and cloudy.]

[he checked the compass almost absent-mindedly, so taken was he with the chill (it was nice, after the heat of outside). perhaps infuriatingly, his tone reflected that distraction, despite the topic.]

We need to find his weaknesses. That's what we did before, you know. Admittedly, what you see is actually what you get - he's made out of water; his "bubbles" are poppable; I'm not sure if freezing him would turn him into a deathsicle or a murder-machine-with-ice.

... Which is, really, what I'd hoped you could check...

Exactly like them. The last Project Head had tar babies; this one has water sprites. The tar burned the same as the Project Head - the water will follow the same rules, I imagine.

[... in fact.]

Just as I'd thought. Stupendous. I love it when things go as I thought.

[-- not a declaration to ever be used as a rule, but there you had it. the Doctor spun on his heel; three-hundred-sixty degrees later, he stopped, beamed once more in the wrong direction, and continued with absolute excitement. whatever his earlier distraction had been, it had fully disappeared.]

You'll be one of the few - no, no, I think you're the only one - with ice, but you won't be the only one bothering the pipsqueak, no.
